Free Fingerstyle Guitar Tabs and More
If you are looking for fingerstyle guitar tabs and video's, you are in the right place.
Please enjoy the Free Tabs. Many more fingerstyle guitar tablature's and sheet music on my Patreon for $4 per month.
Thanks for visiting
You won't find complex music theory here.
Just a normal guy plucking his acoustic guitar fingerstyle, maybe entertaining or helping like minded fingerstyle pluckers with guitar tablature, sheet music and video's.
I hope you enjoy the website. Please visit almost fingerstyle on Youtube and take a look at the blog.
Please make use of the Free Tabs on here and there are many more on my Patreon for $4 per month.
All support helps keep the fingerstyle TABs flowing.
Try before you buy. All guitar tabs on Patreon are in the same format as below - 1 PDF of guitar tablature with musical notation and 1 PDF with just guitar tablature - lyrics are included on both PDF's where appropriate.
If you like my stuff, are generous and/or like sending money on PayPal - please use this button. Any and all donations are very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
More fingerstyle guitar tablature's are being added weekly. I have only just set up on Patreon and am busy writing as many Tab's as possible to add value for the $4 per month. Any sign up's are very much appreciated and will encourage more and more guitar tablature writing. Many thanks for any and all support.
So just like everybody running online content, I need to tell you why you need my stuff in your life.
I spend my free time messing about on the guitar and writing guitar tablature so other people might have a go too. I enjoy playing and find writing the guitar tabs helps me learn and improve, so even if one person stumbles on to almost fingerstyle and finds it useful/fun/entertaining...happy days. And if nobody ever reads this, then screw you, I'm having fun!
Like everyone whose ever plucked, strummed or fingered a g-string, I would love to have a career in music instead of a proper job. I am also realistic, so realize I am no Tommy Emmanuelle, I cannot sing and really don't play nicely with others to be in a band. Doesn't leave too many options.
I write tablature as I would want to find it. As clear, simple and easy to read as possible. Where to shove your fingers and when to shove them. One PDF will have the full guitar tablature along with the musical notation (quavers and all that) and one PDF is just the guitar tablature. Both PDF's have the lyrics included where appropriate - I find the lyrics help a lot with fingerstyle arrangements to mentally put the melody notes in the correct places.
Yes. Maybe. Contact me and I will see what I can do.
I would love to give all the guitar tablature away for free, but unfortunately I am not rich and am trying my best to hopefully support myself and my family doing guitar related things including fingerstyle arrangements, writing guitar Tab and sheet music. I think $4 on Patreon is good value for access to full fingerstyle Tabs. I wish I had access to these guitar Tabs when I was learning how to fingerpick, would have saved years of figuring stuff out and I would have happily paid $4 per month for that!
I have only just set up on Patreon as I am now in a position to have more free time to write guitar tablature and hopefully record more fingerstyle arrangements. There is already lot's of Tab's on Patreon that I am still getting around to recording. I am planning to write and publish at least 1-2 full fingerstyle guitar tablature PDF's per week and hopefully record and publish the arrangements on both Youtube and Patreon at the same rate. Any support and sign ups on Patreon will feedback whether what I am doing is at all useful for fellow finger pickers and I aim to make it great value for what will be included in the $4 per month on Patreon.
If the answer is yes, the following will hopefully make you smile.
When you tell someone you play the guitar, if there happens to be a six string within any kind of proximity, their immediate reaction is to thrust the thing toward you like a weapon and demand either Wonderwall or House of the Rising Sun.
If you then play a fingerstyle arrangement of a song, or go into full on Merle Travis mode, said person looks at you like you've just stepped on a puppy and again requests something along the lines of Bye Bye Miss American Pie.
Now, I like a sing-a-long as much as the next guy, but after years of building strength, technique, muscle memory and trying to reconfigure my simple brain to do 5 or 6 things at the same time, these situations can be frustrating.
So why put yourself through it, if not to impress people at parties?
I have the answer. Fingerstyle is not to entertain the masses, it's a niche, and a very specific one at that.
On a personal note, when you get an arrangement right, you have that magical moment, in your house, on your own, when all of a sudden, fingers, thumbs and brain click into sync and the song just works; the satisfaction and sense of achievement coursing through your veins is immense.
On a more ego trip view, when a fellow guitarist hands you their banjo and you play something over and above anything they have ever heard or even knew existed, the smugness cannot be matched. And when your guitarist friend, (who knows how difficult it is to play anything) sits back googly eyed and just says 'WOW man, that's awesome', the hours of practice are more than worth the struggle.
So, if you are reading this as an experienced and skilled finger picker, lets all be smug together knowing we are a class above the average bear.
And, if you read this as a beginner, please, don't give up, it will come, sure as eggs is eggs, 'if you play it, it will come.'
Truth is, we are all somewhere in the middle of the above statements, I've never met a single guitar player who isn't still learning, striving to get just that little bit better.
And that's all I would like to say about that.
Happy fingering folks.
